Unconscious Bias training
Does anyone have any good examples of unconscious bias eLearning courses? I'm brainstorming creative ways to get learners to identify their own unconscious biases, as well as some reflection/wrap up exercises. Would love to see examples!

I don't have a course example for you but I think one could be modeled in short order from this web post: https://medium.com/thinking-is-hard/4-conundrums-of-intelligence-2ab78d90740f
..and the longer version by the author here: https://betterhumans.coach.me/cognitive-bias-cheat-sheet-55a472476b18I hope this helps as a starting point.

Hello! I used this course here to pair with a workshop I led on privilege at my company.

Hi there! This is exactly what I've been looking for as I build our Unconscious Bias & Microaggressions, Diverity & Inclusion training. I would like your permission to adapt it for my company as internal training if you don't mind? If not, would you be willing to share a copy of the Rise presentation with me?

No problem -- check out the Unconscious Bias tests that Harvard has, also. It should be a resource on my course. If not, it's here.

Yes...those are on my list as well. Thanks!

We do this as a workshop and include this very quick video as a non-threatening way to demonstrate unconscious bias/assumptive thinking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNbF006Y5x4

This is so fun! That's a great way to begin the conversation about assumptions and bias. Love it.

I haven't tried them myself but there are a couple of "intro" courses from edX - Cognitive Bias intro course & Coursera - know thyself intro course that look like they might be useful.

hi there I co-wrote and built this course on edX. Unconscious Bias From Awareness to Action: https://www.edx.org/course/unconscious-bias-from-awareness-to-action-2
I work in D&I and we feel that unconscious bias training can actually do more harm than good. There can be a backlash unless it's more about a general we all have biases (not asking people to identify their own bias) and then helping build habits that help people mitigate the impact of bias on decision making. Not sure that is helpful?? Now in Rise, I focus on covering just one type of bias at a time (Affinity Bias): what it is, what is it's impact in the workplace and then teach a skill and have the learner practice the skill to mitigate its impact.

Amelia, are you willing to share your Rise courses? My current project is Unconscious Bias in the Hiring and Interviewing process. But I would love to make a series like you, with different topics.
