Unwanted image rotation
I have a photo whose orientation is portrait. I can place it in Storyline and it displays the correct portrait orientation. When I Preview the slide, SL rotates the image within its picture box!
I have deleted this image and placed it again but get the same result.
Is there a setting I need to adjust to have SL not rotate things?
Thank you!

Hi John,
Would you mind uploading a slide with the troubled image or at least sharing the image itself? Also, are you filling a shape with the image, or using it as a standalone picture on the slide?

Was this image taken with an iPhone? I have seen this issue with certain iPhone images before.

The photo likely was taken with an iPhone..by a co-worker. My "fix" was to open the image in PS, re-save with a different name, and re-import into SL. Curiously, the image came into SL rotated 90 degrees compared to the way it appears in PS. I used the Rotate handle to set it right, and upon Previewing the slide, the image had the correct - portrait - orientation.
If iPhone-shot photos have this issue, I wonder if there's a way to strip out the "which way's up" info from photo..perhaps re-saving from PS does just that?
Thank you for your suggestions!
Hi JohnJohnson-6a8,
Thanks for reaching out!
I imported an image taken on an iPhone into Storyline and was unable to replicate this issue. I have a couple of follow up questions for you to help me better understand:
- Does this happen with multiple images?
- Are you working from your local hard drive (typically your C: drive)?
Please see this resource on how to fix unexpected or erratic behavior. If you're willing to share the photo and .Story file, our team will gladly take a closer look at what's going on! You can upload those here or privately in a support case, and we'll delete them from our system once troubleshooting is complete.
