Use 'Zoom Picture' results in blurry smaller images
Hi Tim!
I understand that images, where you are using the “Zoom Picture” feature, are appearing blurry. I’m happy to help figure out why this might be occurring!
Just to confirm, you’re finding that the thumbnail of the image appears blurry only when using the “Zoom Picture” feature. The image is clear without the “Zoom Picture” feature. Additionally, the images are blurry when viewing the course, but aren’t blurry when editing. Is this all correct?
I did a quick test on our end to test for expected behavior, and I can confirm that I was able to observe some form of blurriness in the images where I enabled the "Zoom Picture" feature.
It would be helpful if we could take a look at your .story file so we can test your setup on our end! Do you mind sharing your project in this discussion or in a support case?
In the meantime, one possible workaround would be to use a layer in order to “create your own zoom” in a way. If your image is of a high enough resolution, you can make it larger and crop out the area you want as a zoom. This video from Alyssa provides a super helpful walkthrough for that!
I appreciate you providing screenshots! We’ll be sure to begin troubleshooting after receiving your project file!

Opened case# 03571229 regarding this, due to confidentiality agreements. I can certainly attempt what Alyssa has done here, but since we deal with screenshots also, it can certainly be tricky to get the proper resolution all the time, when the software feature should just work.
I will keep this thread updated with anything I can share.
