Using keyboard arrow keys to navigate
Hi everyone,
I'd like to set my course up so that learners can progress quickly forward and back through the course, using the left and right arrows on their keyboard (as in PPT).
I know how to do this with triggers, however I'm wondering if there's a way to do this that doesn't interfere with screen readers. I'd hate to make things easier for the "general" populace but then harder for learners with accessibility issues!
Also, it would be nice if this was a feature you could turn on and off in Storyline, rather than having to program a million slides. It's what people are used to on other platforms.
Thanks,
Allyson

Thanks Judy! I was hoping for a keyboard solution, though, so the learner could progress quickly through slides without having to click a next button. The problem is finding a keyboard solution that doesn't mess with accessibility controls (since the right and left arrow keys allow screen readers to go from one object to the next). It sounds like there's currently no way to do this.

You could use different keys, but that wouldn't be intuitive. You'd have to explain it at the beginning. And, of course, that's a lot of special triggers.

Some keyboard navigation is built-in. This articles provides details:

To avoid messing up accessibility, I suggest you let the "general" folks click the Next and Prev buttons.
