Using Like/Fuzzy Logic to Set a Range of Acceptable Answers for Required Text Entry
The title nearly says it all - I'm hoping to not have to define each possible acceptable answer in a text entry question since I don't feel confident I can even accurately come up with them all. And...
This is a non trivial issue and part of one of the main problems with any sort of text entry.
Text entries must be character correct.
I don't know how or if storyline handles wild cards, but even then there are too many possibilities for the learner to unfairly get it wrong. Remember there is no spell check for this type of data entry.
I would recommend never using text entry in an assessment.
I appreciate your input on this. Something I will certainly take into consideration.
