Variable in Slide Master layout changes on it's own

Thank you for responding. As I said in my initial post there is nothing setting the variable to True. Sure there are 19 spots where the variable exists, like in the text fields that are displaying that variable. That's normal. The Master slide has 4 hotspots that show layers.
