Video flickering

Hi everyone, 

I hope you've had a good week so far. 

I've run into a problem and even though I've checked a couple of threads before, I can't seem to have found the answer. 

In the attached file, I inserted a video and when the beginning of the video is playing, there's flickering on the lines which makes it a bit unenjoyable. In the same project I've experienced the same issue with another video. There are no problems when the camera is moving from left to right, zoomed in but when it zooms in at the beginning and out at the end the lines start to have shadows or slight flashing.

Is there anyone who's experienced something similar? Could you please help me with the solution?

    Update: 
    It doesn't play the video(s) when I published it in a HTML format but it does play them and without flickering when I published it to Review 360.

    I'm sorry you're experiencing issues with video in your project. Thank you for sharing your .story file!

    I was able to replicate the issue only when previewing it within Storyline. When I published to both Web (tested in Chrome and Edge) and Review360, the video played fine without flickering.

    It seems the main issue is that now you can't even see the video when previewing for the Web. 

    Let's try to narrow down the issue:

    • Which version of Storyline are you currently using?
    • Which browsers did you test with?
    • Are you working from a local hard drive? Working on a network drive can cause erratic behavior.

    I am using version v3.48.24159.0

    I've just tried again and it doesn't do it in Chrome anymore. I don't know what has changed. I am about to finish working on this project and it would be important that it continues not producing the same issues even though it still does it in Storyline.

    I am using a local hard drive so that is not the issue. 

    A notification of an Articulate Storyline update has been popping up lately. Do you think updating it could solve the problem?

    Have you heard about something similar before?

    We are currently on Storyline 360 (Build 3.50.24668.0), so updating your software would be our first recommendation. 

    If you still see the flickering after updating your software and publishing, then we'll want to bring in our Support Engineers. You can begin working with our Support Engineers by submitting a support case.

    Updating the software and replacing the video files seemed to have solved the issue.
