[WCAG] Issues in Rise with ALT-Tags and Headline Hierarchies

We had a WCAG Testing of our created course and it failed.

First thing is that empty ALT Tags are not empty in the Source Code. Instead it reads the whole path of the image by the screenreader. I see no workaround for that. Does anyone has an idea?

Second is that it is not possible to format the headlines of the hotspots. They are always H2. This is a problem due to the WCAG Hierarchy of Headline Topics. So it is not possible for me to solve this. Anyone also encountered this?

Sorry to hear that you've run into setbacks, designing an accessible course in Rise 360!

I can confirm that the absence of Heading level controls within the Labeled Graphic Block, is a bug in Rise 360. I've included your voice the bug report so we can notify you as soon as a fix is ready. In the meantime, as a workaround, we suggest:

    • Removing the title and manipulating the text within the body so that it includes whichever level heading is required, followed by the body text. However, it's still possible that the screen reader may not pick up on this perfectly.

Also, I'm having some trouble replicating the behavior you shared around "empty Alt Tags within the source code". It would be helpful to see an example of that code you're referencing. I've opened a support case on your behalf and sent you an e-mail so you can share that privately.

We can continue the conversation through your case to keep all information in one spot!
