What happens with Rise courses after you cancel the subscription?
Hi,
I am wondering about the status of this question. It looks like a stand-alone version of a Rise course may be exported and hosted indefinitely on another LMS. However, what happens when updates are needed to that course...assuming it has been more than 6 months and the course has now been removed from the Rise server? Is there any possibility to access the editable files for future updates?
In my case, I am a free-lancer developing a course for my client on my license. I would hesitate to recommend developing in Rise if it means that the course is not updatable in the future (e.g. without my client maintaining their own license subscription on an ongoing basis.) If there is no method for archiving and later accessing editable files (with a valid license at that time) then I suppose it ties the client to me exclusively to maintain the course in the future —and requires that I maintain my license in order to be able to provide this service.
Is my understanding correct? Are there any updates on the status for durability of Rise courses?
Thank you!
Lon
Hi Lon, awesome to see that you are already working with Carlo, one of our support engineers.

Thanks, Chino. Unfortunately, he just confirms my understanding of the current abilities of Rise to offer a downloadable source file archive of a Rise course. As best as I can tell there is none. Which is why I posted here. Is there someplace else I should add my vote for this feature which would make Rise truly useful?
Thanks,
Lon
