When transferring ownership, permissions are degraded from 'Manager' to 'Editor'
I am working on adapting some courses for another designer in Articulate Rise, but when I transfer ownership of the course to her my role is changed to 'Editor' despite me having 'Manager' permissions in the folder — and all brand new courses created in the folder have me as a manager, it's just when transferring ownership that this occurs.
This seems to be the case for both Courses and Microlearnings.
Is there anything we can do to prevent this behaviour? It's quite annoying to redo the permissions, especially as the folder permissions are correct.
Thanks folks :)

You are not missing any settings; this is expected behavior.
Hello Abby8042,
I’m glad Karl was able to jump in here! What you’re seeing is expected behavior. When ownership is transferred, your role on that specific course is reset independently from the folder-level permissions, which is why you’re seeing it change to Editor. I understand how that can be a bit frustrating, especially when your folder permissions are already set the way you need them.
If you’d like to review how permissions work across folders and individual items, here's a helpful reference.
If you have any specific questions about your setup, we'd be happy to take a closer look in a support case!

Thank you for getting back to me. I don't think there are any specific questions about the setup that weren't answered here. We're a tertiary institution and decided to break up a few Rise Courses into Microlearnings (for one paper), which resulted in approximately 40 microlearnings that need to have editing access added back.
This won't be the only paper we do this with, so if there is a way to add a feature request to change this behaviour (or at least have a setting that we can turn on) that would be great.
Ngā mihi nui.
