Why don't we have a native Mac app for Storyline?

I'll be honest, I've been thinking about this for too long now.

Considering we want our eLearning to look good as well as being effective, and considering most graphic designers tend to favour the Mac ecosystem, not having a native Mac app for Storyline seems like a bit of a missed opportunity.

It just means we either have to follow one of the following options.

  • Have a Mac for image work and a PC for Storyline
  • Get a graphic designer with a Mac to produce our images etc
  • Run a virtual PC on something like Parallels (though as a long term Mac user I hate this option - having to boot up different OSs for different packages seems like a rather backward way of doing things and a long-winded workaround)
  • Migrate from a Mac to a PC for all work (this isn't going to happen for me or a lot of other designers)
  • Use alternatives to Storyline (Rise is good, but nowhere near flexible enough, and I detest Adobe Captivate!)

So, I open the floor to all my fellow IDs, content developers and other learning professionals. Who here wants a native Mac app for Storyline? And the lovely Articulate staff, why can't we have a Mac app? Like I said, it seems like an untapped market to me.

  • I've been wondering the same.  Due to my employer not authorizing the use of Storyline on my new work laptop, I downloaded a trial of Parallels and bought Windows 11 for Mac.

    It was...interesting.

We've just decided today to go forward with purchasing Articulate 360, but I'd like to develop template slides with my trial copy in the interim.

My boss asked if there were other options besides Parallels, like using a Citrix shell. I said I'd check the community here.  Looks like we Mac users still have nothing.
