Why is changing the master slide/look for quizzes so complicated?

I really think it should be as easy as selecting a specific master slide from a dropdown when right-clicking or in the banner and then just selecting the master slide layout you want to apply.

Instead, I'm spending time going into the master slide view, continually selecting a different master slide I want to use for the Correct layer instead, returning back to the layer with it having no effect and just stubbornly retaining the master slide layout that was already there.

Am I missing something?
