Why shape alignment messes up in preview?

Two things I've learned:
If the view isn't sized to 100% when editing, things align differently than when previewed.
Sometimes alignment changes for preview, even if edited at 100%. In that case, I adjust for perfection in the published version, even if it takes longer.
