Accessibility Issues with Rise 360 Courses?

What best practices do you use to create accessible Rise 360 courses that meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards?

I work on a rapid development team that primarily uses Rise 360. My previous team, which used Storyline and took much longer to develop, claims that Rise 360 has "Accessibility Issues." Our company is pushing for more compliant instructional design, and I’m looking for ways to use Rise 360 while ensuring our courses are accessible at WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

So far, I’ve noticed that only a few interaction types in Rise seem to lack accessibility at this level. Are there best practice guidelines for Rise 360 that can help address these known "Accessibility Issues"?

Thanks so much for any recommendations.

This article should answer your question. The article also links best practices for designing accessible courses.

    • Thanks for your response here, DShaw!

JoanneBentley-b, I'm wondering if you might find some deep collaboration with the folks in our Accessibility Group - LeslieMcKerchie heads up that group and does a great job of keeping the group updated on a quarterly basis with all of the enhancements that go into all our products around accessibility each quarter. She just posted one today!

It sounds like you're looking ahead to make sure your Rise 360 training aligns with your organization's accessibility goals, which is a great approach.

Rise 360 includes many accessibility features designed to support the creation of accessible training. Like any authoring tool, however, the overall accessibility of the published output depends on both the platform's capabilities and the choices made during authoring.

I'd recommend reviewing these resources as a starting point:

Out of curiosity, are you aware of any specific accessibility concerns your previous team encountered with Rise 360, or were their concerns or feedback more general? Also, has your current team had an opportunity to test any of your published Rise 360 training for accessibility yet? Knowing a bit more about what you've heard or what you've already evaluated will help us provide more targeted guidance.
