Adding Hardrives for storage

I am saving Storyline projects locally on the C:Drive

I want to upgrade my HD to a larger size.

IT asks me: "Does the drive need to be the same as your operating system drive in order for the video rendering to save or can you choose to save the files to a different drive? If you can I can install the drive as a secondary location and would likely not need to wipe your data."

Please advise.
