Brainstorm Help Needed
Hi there, Phoebe! I love that you're considering Rise to design your recruitment training! I have some ideas for how you might showcase the job description and resumes using interactive blocks.
To start, check out this sample lesson I mocked up for you! Keep in mind the sample job description and resumes I included in that lesson are just examples I found on the web.
- I kicked off the lesson with a scenario block. Beginning with a character will provide the learner with a sense of personalized attention, and using the same character throughout the course can drive engagement.
- To embed the job description directly in the lesson, I used a multimedia embed block. Simply upload your PDF documents to Google Drive or another web server, and you can use an iframe code like <iframe src="URL"></iframe> to embed your documents!
- The resumes are embedded in a process block. I like this block type for this purpose because it allows the learner to scroll back and forth between the resumes. The downloads are below the process block was created using an accordion block!
- Finally, I closed the lesson with one more scenario block. This time, I asked the learner to select which candidate is best, and I included feedback for each answer choice to ensure they understand the rationale behind the selection.
I really enjoyed this challenge, and I plan to highlight it in our Quick Tips and Tricks: Episode 113 webinar tomorrow! I'll be sure to come back and share a link to the recording here in this discussion after the event. 🙂
Thank you for the idea, and I hope you're able to glean a tip or two from my example!

Hi Alyssa,
This is exactly what I was trying to do, just couldn't put my finger on how to actually put it together. Thank you so much!
We are using Rise/Storyline for a series of training modules on an Introduction to People Management, so it has been challenging to come up with consistently new and engaging styles to keep people interested.
Everything you did is perfect - the only hurdle I am facing is embedding the PDF's for review. Due to our firewalls and internal security, I don't know where to save them that they can embed like that. (I had to review yours on my phone as my work computer wouldn't let me access them via google drive). I plan to talk to my I.T. department tomorrow to see if they have any solutions, however I thought I would comment in case you had any alternative suggestions.
Thank you again - I wasn't going to post, but after I kept hitting a wall, I figured I had nothing to lose!
