criteria for rise vs. storyline?
Honestly, I find Rise courses to be a little too "cookie cutter" in appearance. I know there are ways to make that part more interesting, but I haven't played with it enough to know how to do that.
Also, if one of the prime motivators for using Rise is mobile use, that is not something that our organization requires/allows. Consequently, the time spent in Storyline to build more interesting e-learning delivered via desktop is far more valuable for me.

To me that seems like a super valid reason to use Storyline instead of Rise! It definitely provides more optionality to create a more unique look and feel, and especially if you're already familiar with the tool it's not incredibly difficult to use. And it makes sense that if mobile use is not very important to you, that would change the calculus. Appreciate you chiming in to share your perspective here!
