Peer Pod Coming Soon: “New to Instructional Design” — Who’s Joining Us?
We’re kicking off a brand-new Peer Pod for anyone who’s new to instructional design and you’re invited! 🎉
Peer Pods are 4-week learning groups where community members explore a topic together through weekly prompts, curated resources, and shared discussion. Whether you’re a few days or several months into your role, this is your chance to connect with peers, reflect on key topics, and build confidence together.
Here’s what we’ll explore:
✨ What to focus on as you get started
📦 Intro to Articulate 360 + course design best practices
🤝 Tips for working with SMEs
💻 Best practices for incorporating AI
By the end, you’ll walk away with a stronger foundation and a group of peers cheering you on.
🗓 Start Date: Monday, January 12, 2026
Participants will be added to the private Peer Pod group about a week before we begin.
👉 Want to join? Fill out the registration form.
💬 Your turn: What Peer Pod topics do you want to see next?
If you could join a focused 4-week learning group, what topic would you choose? Drop your ideas below so we can build pods around what you want most. 🙌

Oooh KellOrding so excited to see this come to life! Peer learning and sharing is such a critical part of deep knowledge growth, I'll be following eagerly along.

I'd like to see a peer pod on developing apprenticeship courses. This is far different from business applications. And the peer pod for this session does not need to be restricted to new developers. It would be a sharing of ideas that work. Specifically I design apprenticeships with Articulate RISE.
Thanks so much for sharing ReneYapp! I'd love to connect more on this to get some additional information on this topic and what you would hope to get out of a peer pod with the topic!

Is the structure of the peer pod learning suitable for people who live in Australia?
Hi NadineBrittonOb! 👋🏼 YES! Community members from any country and time zone can attend. For the first peer pod I facilitated, I tried to post the weekly prompts Sunday night (US time) so it would be ready to go for all of our friends regardless of timezone.
The way the program is set up, all of the interactions are async through a specific group within ELH where participants can respond when it makes sense for them.
The only thing that would be difficult would be the welcome meeting I will hold the week before the program starts. It will be recorded and shared after; however, if there are several participants from a different timezone, I'm more than happy to explore adding an additional one that works! ❣️

Thank you for the flexibility I really appreciate it :)

I’ve been in the field for about a year — would this still be a good fit?
Totally Andréanne! There are some portions that might be a liiiittle more focused for those who are newer; however, almost everything can be applied regardless of how long you've been in the field! ♥️
There's also an opportunity for everyone to share about their own experiences, questions, etc., so I'm certain you would take something away, and others could learn from you 🥰

Alright then, I’m in!

I am excited to see that there are flexible sessions available, this allows me to attend online! A bit of a sponge and mostly self taught - so looking forward to learning more skills.

VickiFinlay Excited for you to be joining us! 🙌🏼

I'd like to join but I cannot fill out the form as my company blocks the site. Please let me know how I can sign up :)
- KellOrdingStaff
cassidya Thanks so much for your interest and letting me know! I've manually added you into the database - look out for an email coming next week with more information.
For our future Peer Pods, we'll be using a different form interface to better ensure everyone is able to access the form! 🙌🏼

This sounds like a great idea. What is the time commute schedule over the 4 weeks? I hav e few new team members that is would help but need to know how much time this would take?
- KellOrdingStaff
Hi DeannaMiles! Great question. I'd estimate the time commitment to be approximately 60 minutes a week. Of course this can depend on how deep a participant wants to go with the weekly content (and if they go down any rabbit holes)!

I really wish these had existed when I was new to ID! Very jealous of the participants.
Any chance you will begin pods for more experienced IDs? Especially as a single in house ID I would love to have a pod of people to turn to to bounce ideas off of and learn with.
- KellOrdingStaff
Hi LFanz! Yesssss - the goal with these Peer Pods are to expand to more topics that could intersect with the many needs of our community members 🙌🏼
Are there certain topics you'd love to see or be part of? I'd love to gather any ideas from interested community members!
Also huge kudos to you as a single in house ID! That's a lot of work and I totally get that desire to be able to connect with others and have a sounding board ❣️
