Meet the Big Bear Bald Eagles
This winter I started keeping track of the bald eagle nest in Big Bear Lake, California, which is about 90 miles from where I live in the desert. It's a place we go in the summer to get out of the desert heat.
There is a webcam kept on the nest by the Friends of Big Bear Valley. The eagle pair, Jackie and Shadow, have two chicks that are getting ready to leave the nest. This demo introduces you to the nest and the development of the chicks over the past several months.
I used Rise for this demo because at first I thought I would create an interactive graphic with videos, but I found the accordion interaction worked a little better. I tried using the timeline/process block, but I didn't like how my videos were rendering, so I opted for the accordion, which accomplished my objective.
Enjoy exploring this nest! If you are curious, I embedded the youtube video site at the end so you can catch the chicks before they fly away...which will be any day. 🦅

Welcome back JodiSansone (I didn't realize you were back, I missed the last 2 weeks). I was delighted to meet Shadow and Jackie and their story. I rushed to the “live” of course, then read the previous chapters. I've been watching ever since. Here's my report: Quiet day. Everyone is safe at home. Next report tomorrow. Over.

Being able to witness the birth and growth of these eaglets is rare. Having background information on each stage along with accompanying videos made this very engaging. I like the Accordion choice as well, as it was easy to revisit specific stages. Nice job, Jodi.
