New in Labs: Find and Replace Fonts

The find and replace fonts feature is still in development and will receive updates as part of Labs. Functionality will change over time. Some options could be modified, while others may be removed based on feedback and feature stability.

Need to update fonts across your project? Storyline 360 already lets you replace fonts one at a time, but the find and replace fonts feature takes it even further. It scans your entire project, shows where each font is used, and lets you swap all instances at once or update them one by one.

Get Started

Enable the feature in Labs. Then, in Slide View, go to the Home tab on the ribbon, click the drop-down arrow next to Find/Replace, and select Replace Fonts. This opens the Find and Replace Fonts window, which lists all the fonts used in your project.

Review and Replace Fonts

From the Find and Replace Fonts window, you can:

  • Expand a font to see every instance of it.
  • Click an object link to jump directly to that location in your project.
  • Replace all instances of a font at once using the Replace all with drop-down list.
  • Replace individual instances using the Replace with drop-down list next to each item.

The Fonts window stays open while you work, so you can continue reviewing and replacing fonts without losing your place. If you make changes outside the Fonts window, click Refresh to update the results.

FAQs

What does the feature scan?

Shapes, slide notes, player text, theme fonts, text styles, layers, slide masters, and feedback masters across your project.

Can I undo a font replacement?

Yes. Press Ctrl+Z to undo the most recent font replacement. You can do this only before you make other changes. If you’ve already made other changes, replace the font again and select the original font.

If I replace a font, will it keep the same size and formatting?

Yes. Replacing a font changes only the font, so your text keeps the same size and formatting. However, different fonts can vary in spacing and character width. After replacing a font, review your course to make sure the text still fits as expected.

The find and replace fonts feature is a Labs experiment, and your input will help shape its development. We need your help to ensure it meets the needs and expectations of all Articulate users. Please share your thoughts on the following:

  • Uses. How are you using the feature? Does it fit your workflow?
  • Bugs. Is anything not working as expected?
  • Improvements. How could this feature be better?
  • Insights. How does this feature benefit you and your learners?

Working with localized projects? We’d love your feedback on how font replacement should behave across translated languages.
