New in Labs: Skip-ahead Quizzes
Can I accomplish the following successfully (I have not so far outside of SL360 and am running out of ideas)
I want to create a branched interaction where the learners chooses a path using the button controls in rise and each button goes to a different assessment within the same course. They only need to pass one assessment to get to the end lesson with a Storyline block serving as the attestation which when clicked-triggers completion to the LMS.
Right now I am getting stuck as i cant figure out how to let them pick any quiz and then if passed jump to the end. I have skip ahead enabled but is it limited to only allowing one skip to pass?
For now i am just using buttons in a lesson after each quiz to allow them to get to the attestation block so its extra work to accomplish the task but might be easy to solve with this lab!
Hey jennbrockman ! Great question. Details like this are so helpful at informing how we iterate. The Skip-Ahead experiment is not necessarily optimized to support branching, but it can be used on multiple quizzes within a course. Let me know if the following solution is what you are looking for.
I would recommend using a button stack (or consider using the Hyperlink Enhancements Labs experiment for more flexible options) to provide learners a choice of which quiz they would like to take. Then use the Skip-Ahead quiz setting on all three quizzes to skip to the lesson containing the Storyline Block at the end of the course.
When you export, select the Storyline Block option for tracking progress. Does this get at what you are looking for?

That was actually what I ultimately ended up doing but for some reason, with skip ahead enabled on all six quizzes and the page to land on being the lesson with my storyline attestation block if they passed, there is a hiccup and it always take them to the next lesson in line which is another quiz instead of the attestation block regardless if they pass or fail. I wanted them to hit a passing score for whichever quiz they were on before seeing the attestation but I cant seem to get it to work no matter how much testing i am doing on my end. Thoughts? Should i disable and re-enable the lab? I read that can mess it up so didn't want to make things harder either :)

I ended up having to vibe code a block interaction instead with the six assessments. If a person did not pass a chosen quiz on the first attempt, it disabled the skip ahead feature and took them to the next lesson. The goal was for them to have to pass the quiz they select to show they got the necessary learning and use the SL block to trigger completion in the LMS. If they took the quiz and didnt pass on the first try, I added a button to allow them to retake but in order for them to move forward, I would have to add a button to jump to the completion part but again- this would give them a chance to not pass the quiz but still show completed which was not the intended outcome.

We'll look into this! Thank you for sharing the specifics of your set-up. This should work, but clearly something is amiss. We really appreciate you helping us with this experiment.
