Welcome to Labs!

You're probably wondering just what Labs is and how it works. Let's dive in.

What is Labs?

Labs is where you, our most adventurous users, have the opportunity to try early, experimental features and help shape what we build next.

We're constantly working on new things behind the scenes, testing out what the future of Articulate 360 web-based products looks like. That could range from a simple formatting feature for a single block to an entirely new training deliverable.

But without input from real users, even our best efforts can miss the mark. That's why we're looking to gather direct feedback to get these features right. With Labs, we can easily share early solutions, quickly gather your feedback, and then use that feedback to improve features before they’re fully released.

How Labs Works

We call the new features in progress “experiments,” and checking them out in Labs is simple.

Once we announce a feature here in the forum, it'll be available in the Labs section in your user settings (that linked article has the full details on how to enable Labs features, but we'll summarize it here for your convenience).

In the Labs interface, you can review the available experiments, sorted alphabetically. Each experiment includes a link to a dedicated forum post with full details, including known risks, limitations, and the kind of feedback we're looking for.

One thing to keep in mind is that while feature development at Articulate is accessibility-forward and aimed at inter-app compatibility, we can't guarantee that every Labs feature will be fully accessible or work as expected with products like Articulate Localization and AI Assistant. When there are known incompatibilities, we'll call them out in the introductory post for that feature.

To try a Labs experiment, toggle it on in the interface. For most labs, once they're enabled, they'll be marked in your Rise 360 interface by a Labs tag. Experiments may also include a feedback survey link.

That feedback survey link is important.

Labs isn't just about letting you see what we're working on. We review your feedback to decide what happens next. Not every experiment will graduate to a full production feature—and that has as much to do with your feedback as anything else. If there's a Labs experiment that you feel absolutely needs to be added as a regular feature, the feedback survey is how you let us know. Tell us what's working, what's confusing, and what you'd like to see improved. As we make adjustments throughout the experiment, you can follow along in the associated forum for updates from the development team.

Labs features are always optional and are very much works in progress. They may change, improve, or be scrapped altogether based on what we learn.

We're excited to bring you along on this journey and hope you enjoy what we have in store. We can't wait to hear what you think!
