Content file names to long

Mar 29, 2023

Does anyone know how long content file names can be in RISE? We are getting a Failed status for a SCORM 1.2 course that loads in English but the French one keeps failing. Thinking it might be the accents or the fact that the file name might be way to long for the LMS to load and recognize. Thank you

Hi Cory,

Great question! I understand that you would like to know why your course reports a failed status in your LMS. I’m happy to work with you to figure out why this is happening!

Both having accents in the file name and the length of the file name could be the source of the issue. Accents are considered special characters along with spaces, dashes, underscores, etc. It's best to avoid any special characters when naming your project files, media files, and attachments/resources. Regarding the length of the file name, make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).

Thanks for reaching out and I hope this helps!
