Make a Rise Button stack required
Mar 15, 2021
Is it possible to make a button interaction in Rise required? One of our compliance courses contains a link to a third party video that users must click to get credit for completing the course.
I built a button stack block in Rise, and when users click on the first button, it takes them to the required video. Then I inserted a "Continue" button at the end of the lesson and set it up to require users to complete all blocks above. But the Continue button activates even if the buttons haven't been clicked.

Hi Laura,
Rise cannot detect if an external link was clicked.
So Rise is unable keep track if the external video was viewed or not.
Hi Laura! Is it possible to obtain a copy of the video file so you can upload it directly to the Rise lesson?
If not, you could add a checkbox list block followed by a restricted continue button, like I did below. Would something like this work for your course?
That is helpful - thank you!
We also are wishing that the button stack could be required. We often link out to other sites, Rise lessons, videos, etc. and we wish buttons had a "visited state" and must be clicked before continuing.
