Hi there Alli I'm not sure I can help but I wanted to offer some consolation. That's incredibly frustrating. When I've had that error it's been when I'm trying to load an image and the file is too big or an incompatible format or whatever - I've never lost more than a few seconds work due to wi-fi or laptop issues.
