I like Rise and this a good use case for onboarding a new employee - but how does this facilitate learning differently then something like a website or even a company's intranet site?

Kelsey you read my mind - this is my biggest struggle with all of the demos that are posted on here - most of them just seem like a flashy way to give someone a document or have them read information. My biggest fear is to make onboarding not seem like death by glorified powerpoint. While I love the look and simplicity of items like these when you have elearning start to take over more of your internal training it can be repetitive and overwhelming for your employees.
