Search function in Rise
Our students complain that there is no way to search a whole Articulate Rise web-based training. Is there any way this can be implemented?

I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360! This update fixes the following issue:
- The search feature didn't work for training that used overlay navigation.
There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to publish your Rise 360 course again.

Hi EricSantos, I know this isn't the best place for this, but I always struggle to find the actual feature request submission page:
Articulate Rise should absolutely integrate the search field on the course developer side, too! I'm thankful it's on the Preview/Production side of things, but it seems like unnecessary steps when editing a course to back out of the lesson I'm working on, click Preview, start the course, then click the search field. For editors, it should just be a magnifying glass right next to the Comments icon, always available in the top navigation of a course.
Can you point me in the right direction to where I can submit this?
Impromptu additional feature request: make the feature request submission page much easier to find on the website, at least for users who are logged in. 😉

Thanks for sharing both of these ideas! Having a search option built right into the Rise 360 editor would make it much easier to find and jump to specific content while you’re building a course.
I’ve informed the product team so they can consider it for future updates.
I also passed along your feedback about making the feature request page easier to find for logged-in users. That’s a thoughtful suggestion and something we’ll review with the team.

LucianaPiazza I know about this, but it doesn't help since the results will only tell you the search term is somewhere within a lesson, you cannot jump to the exact spot, so it is useless in bigger courses.

I’m happy to chime in here, and I completely understand your point. While the current search feature can help identify which lesson contains a term, not being able to jump directly to the exact spot can definitely be limiting in larger courses.
I’ve submitted a feature request on your behalf to improve the search functionality in Rise 360. We’ll keep this thread updated if there are any changes that might help. Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like me to include.

Search is very important for my learners too, but it is broken in the Overlay navigation menu in Rise. If you choose Overlay, the Search button just brings up a big search field in the middle of the screen but does not display any search results. Overlay is quite important for accessibility because there appears to be a bug in zooming when using Sidebar navigation:
- Storyline blocks scale normally up to 175%
- At 200%, the Storyline block shrinks to make room for the enlarged sidebar
- At 250%, the sidebar auto-collapses, and the block resizes correctly again
Because WCAG 2.2 1.4.4 specifies a requirement for 200% zoom, this behaviour represents a technical failure of the criterion when using Sidebar navigation. In contrast, using the Overlay navigation avoids this issue entirely.

Thanks for reaching out! Our team is currently tracking a bug affecting the search functionality when using Overlay Navigation. I’ve added your voice to the report. We’ll keep folks posted with any news of a fix.
Thanks for the update Luciana. However, as of this morning, search also appears to be broken in sidebar and compact navigation. Both modes of navigation show the search results by lesson, but if you click on the lessons, the main content area remains blank with only navigate to the previous section showing at the top of the screen. This happens in both Chrome and Edge.

Thanks for reaching out! I want to confirm that learners can find information in your Rise 360 course by using the search field in the sidebar.
Here are the steps to make sure it's enabled:
1. Open your course in Rise 360.
2. Go to the Theme tab at the top of the screen.
3. Click on Navigation in the left sidebar.
4. Find the Search option and toggle it to On.- Here's a quick visual of this in action!
