Separate Notes & Transcript for Layers
Currently, there is only one Notes tab for the slide in Storyline 360. This means that, if you have narration on individual layers, you must enter it in the base layer to have it show in the Transcript.
Layers already have their own timeline, and adding individual Note tabs for each layer would help whenever you don't want to reveal the content of a layer before a user opens/views that layer:
- Correct/Incorrect feedback on quiz and knowledge check slides - feedback could be included in the transcript without giving away the answer on the base layer.
- Chunk layer content - Layers chunk visual and audio content, so it would be helpful to split the written Transcript. That way, learners won't be presented with a wall of text representing all content on every layer at the beginning.
- Present information in the order accessed - if layers can be accessed in any order, the audio won't be in the same order as the transcript on the base layer.

Hello Troy_Dunton_MA,
Thanks for taking the time to share this idea with us. I can definitely see how having separate Note tabs for layers would be helpful for keeping feedback, narration, and chunked content more organized and accessible.
I’ve shared your request with our product team so they can consider it in future updates. We’ll be sure to keep you posted with any changes.
