When the timeline is paused during preview or editing, only the elements that are active at that specific point should be displayed, rather than showing all elements on the timeline. Why it matters: Provides an accurate visual representation of what learners will see at that exact moment. Reduces confusion when working with complex slides containing multiple layers and timed objects. Makes it easier to fine-tune design and alignment without distractions from future or past elements. Implementation approach: Modify the timeline preview behaviour so that pausing hides elements not yet visible or already finished. Add a toggle option for developers who prefer the current behaviour (show all elements). Ensure compatibility with layers, states, and triggers. Benefits for users: Improves precision in designing time-sensitive interactions. Enhances workflow efficiency for developers working on detailed animations or transitions.17Views0likes1CommentAudio Editor – Ability to Rewind or Forward Frame by Frame
Add functionality in the Audio Editor to move forward or backward frame by frame when reviewing audio. When generating Ai audio, currently, there isn't the option to add pauses or slow the speaker, so to insert pauses, I am having to use this audio editor, but it needs more functionality: Why it matters: Provides granular control for trimming and aligning audio segments. Helps developers accurately sync audio with timeline events or visual elements. Reduces guesswork and improves efficiency when working with detailed audio tracks. Implementation approach: Introduce Frame Step Buttons (forward/backward) in the Audio Editor interface. Define frame size based on standard frame rate (e.g., 1/30th of a second). Optionally add keyboard shortcuts for quick frame-by-frame navigation. Benefits for users: Enhances precision in audio editing and syncing. Saves time during complex audio adjustments. Improves overall quality of e-learning content. Thank you.5Views0likes0CommentsTimeline - Snap highlighted object to the previous object on timeline row just below
Add the ability for the currently highlighted object on the timeline to snap directly to the start of the object on the row immediately below. This feature would help remove empty gaps and make alignment between objects quicker and more accurate. Why it matters: Speeds up timeline organisation by reducing manual dragging and alignment and using the long-winded Align playhead to object end > Align object to playhead. Ensures precise timing between related objects (e.g., syncing captions with audio). Improves workflow efficiency for slides with multiple elements and complex timing. Implementation approach: Introduce a Snap to Previous Object Below option when dragging an object on the timeline. Alternatively, add a context menu command or shortcut key for quick snapping. Maintain flexibility so users can still manually position objects if needed. Benefits for users: Eliminates unnecessary gaps, making timelines cleaner and easier to manage. Saves time when aligning multiple objects across rows. Enhances accuracy for time-sensitive animations and interactions. Thank you.5Views0likes1CommentDrag-and-Drop Reordering in Triggers panel
Enable users to drag and drop triggers in the Triggers panel to arrange them in a preferred viewing order for better organisation. This would allow developers to group related triggers (e.g., all actions linked to a specific text entry box) without changing their execution order or behaviour. Why it matters: Improves workflow efficiency by making it easier to visually group and manage related triggers. Reduces cognitive load when working with slides that have many triggers. Helps developers quickly locate and review triggers associated with a specific object or interaction. Implementation approach: Add drag-and-drop functionality in the Triggers panel for visual reordering only. Maintain the original execution order internally to avoid affecting functionality. Optionally, allow saving custom visual arrangements per slide for consistency. Benefits for users: Enhances clarity and organisation in complex projects. Saves time when troubleshooting or editing grouped interactions. Provides a more intuitive and user-friendly interface. Could we please have the ability to move through the timeline frame by frame, both forward and backward, when previewing or editing animations and interactions in Storyline 360. Why it matters: Provides precise control for aligning objects, animations, and triggers. Helps developers fine-tune timing for complex sequences without guessing. Reduces trial-and-error, saving time during course development. Implementation approach: Introduce Frame Step Buttons next to the Play/Pause controls in the timeline panel. Allow stepping forward/backward by a single frame (e.g., 1/30th of a second for standard frame rate). Optional shortcut keys for quick navigation (e.g., Arrow keys + modifier). Benefit for users: Improves accuracy in syncing audio, video, and animations. Enhances professional polish for e-learning content. Thank you.3Views0likes0CommentsWEBM Encoding in the background
Hi all, some nice new features and fixes implemented today. Regarding adding MP4 videos, I think it'd be helpful for users to be aware from this page that the WEBM encoding process happening in the background will prevent editing of that video in Storyline until the encoding process is complete; and that users can track the encoding progress by clicking the new (?) Processing button at the bottom right of their Status bar.18Views1like1CommentPreview SCORM 2004 output
I've gone through this exercise a bunch of times and it just occurred to me that this could be a nice feature. If I create a course that has some quiz questions in it and an "acknowledgements" page, I go through this process where I first publish from Storyline to SCORM 2004. Then upload the SCORM package to the LMS. Then complete the course as a test user. Then finally view what responses got submitted to the LMS by running a report. And then if it didn't capture responses the way I expected, I go through the whole process again, which realistically takes about 10-20 minutes in addition to the duration of the course itself. It would be a nice time-saver and something to test against, if Storyline provided a preview of the results the SCORM 2004 package is sending over. Maybe this could be a component of running a Preview of the course, so user input is captured and then a separate window displays what the SCORM package will be sending to the LMS.18Views0likes1CommentStoryview
When viewing a slide and Storyview is clicked (to view the entire project) the scene that the slide is in should be on the screen. This project can not be fully viewed in Storyview, and this is why I think that having the selected scene that the slide is in would be helpful. What is the determination of what part of the Storyview is shown when clicked? Scene 19 is indicated by the arrow, but it is not included in the refreshed Storyview image.3Views0likes0Comments
