Themes - ability to have a language setting for British English
Introduce an option within the Themes settings to allow users to select British English as the preferred language variant. This ensures consistency in spelling, grammar, and terminology across all interface elements and content.
Why it matters:
- British English is the most widely used form of English globally, making it a practical and inclusive choice.
- UK-based users expect British English for clarity and compliance with local standards.
- Reduces confusion caused by American English spellings (e.g., “utilize” vs “utilise”) and terminology differences.
- Enhances user experience by aligning language with regional expectations.
Implementation approach:
- Add a Language Variant dropdown under Themes → Language Settings.
- Apply changes to UI text, AI, system messages, and templates.
Thank you.

Hi MeeraLynn-UK!
Thanks for the suggestion. I understand the need for a British English option in Themes so your courses can follow UK spelling, grammar, and terminology without extra editing.
I’ve shared this request with our product team so they can consider adding a language variant setting within Themes.
Really appreciate you taking the time to outline why this matters!

This would also be really helpful when utilising the AI assitant to create new courses. It automatically use American English, and then I have to check the language and change to British English.
Hello Jess1,
Thanks for sharing your voice with us! I've shared your insight with our product team as I can see how expanding this with AI Assistant would be helpful.
We'll be sure to share any future updates in this thread, so all are in the loop!

Just to clarify my suggestion: if Themes includes a language variant option as I suggested — such as British English — then this setting should really apply across the board, including within the AI Assistant without requiring expanding? This would keep everything aligned and reduce the need for manual corrections.
