Math Quiz

This Articulate Storyline project demonstrates a single-slide interactive activity that dynamically generates math problems and validates learner responses in real time. Each time the slide is revisited or reset, a new problem is created, providing a unique practice experience while automatically checking answers and delivering immediate feedback. The project showcases the use of variables, triggers, and conditional logic to create a reusable and engaging learning interaction.

    Thanks for sharing this, Larry. As a maths teacher, what I like most is the missing factor format. A question like 10 times something equals 170 makes learners think about the inverse operation instead of just recalling a times table, and that is where the real learning happens. The single slide design is clever too: a fresh problem on every reset keeps practice from going stale, and immediate feedback means a learner can correct a misunderstanding straight away instead of carrying it through a whole set of questions. I would be interested to know what the feedback looks like after a wrong answer. Does it show the working, or just mark it right or wrong? Showing one short line of working would make this even stronger for learners who are stuck.

    I’m glad to hear that you found this interactive useful! Your feedback is very valuable, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

    Currently, the interactive only provides simple “correct” or “incorrect” feedback. However, I could enhance it to dynamically display the correct answer after a response is submitted. Since this interactive was built using JavaScript, implementing this feature would require some additional coding. If I have some time, I’d love to work on incorporating this improvement.
