Here's a sample eight-object drag-and-drop interaction shared in this thread. Customize the interaction for your own use, or just deconstruct it to learn more about how drag-and-drop interactions work.
I downloaded this, and it looks as though there should be a black-and-white image in each of the boxes, which turns into a coloured version when the correct label is dropped on it. However, when I preview it, the boxes are blank. Am I missing something, or is that the way it is supposed to work?
Hi Julie - the flower pictures have an initial state of Hidden when the learner arrives at the slide. (The pictures look black-and-white when you open the file in Storyline because objects whose initial states are Hidden are shown as grayed-out in the authoring environment.) So the idea is, the yellow square underneath each picture would contain some text or an image that the learner would match a label to. If they get the match correct, then the picture changes from Hidden to Normal (visible). It might help to check out the following post, where Christina shares how she adapted this template with her own content: community.articulate.com/.../117146.aspx (Be patient though - her sample is hosted on Dropbox so it might feel a little sluggish)
Of course, that makes sense! Thanks, I figured I must be looking at something the wrong way round! Actually, I rather like the idea of using the way I thought it was supposed to work, with a B/W image that turns into colour when it's correctly identified, but I'll study the posted examples first. Thanks!
Julie, I think that would make a really neat variation, to use a black and white image as the initial state, and then change it to a full color version when a label is dropped in the correct spot. That would be fun to experiment with! If you do, be sure to post in the Storyline forum & share your work - I bet it would be a nice inspiration to the rest of the community! community.articulate.com/.../65.aspx
Hi Zubair, the interaction that Montse shared is actually a freeform drag and drop question. Though I don't think there is a video tutorial on this particular project, I'd recommend checking out the tutorial here: community.articulate.com/.../drag-and-drop.aspx ...which explains how to create a freeform drag-and-drop question. If you have additional specific questions about how to build something like this, the Storyline forum is a great resource for getting answers: community.articulate.com/.../65.aspx
Hello Jeanette, I'm wondering if I can make the content of the "Kiss an organic farmer" part animate or update itself, e.g. After the white space says "Kiss an organic farmer", it will then say "Only buy organic produce" after about 5 seconds.
Is that possible?
It will be really awesome if we can do that.
Thanks!! :)
I love this darg and drop interaction activity. Montse Anderson fully deserves to earn containers of congratulations! Keep on giving us beautiful ideas to use Storyline productively.
