Animated gifs (courtesy of Giphy), YouTube videos, and loads of interactions equip managers with information and tools to prepare their office and team for a hurricane emergency.
Looks like an interactive web page. Very different, which means I'm still unsure of its use. Great content and I like how you tied it back into some self-directed learning opportunities. How does this platform track performance? I've not had time to play with it yet. Nice job!
Hi Landon. Yes, this course was created in Rise which is a fully web-based authoring tool for creating responsive e-learning. Rise was built entirely around mobile so what you're seeing is output that's been totally mobile optimized. If you'd like to learn more about how Rise works, you may want to check out this short video from Tom Kuhlmann: https://community.articulate.com/series/getting-started-with-rise
Great example Trina. It works fine on my desktop but I couldn't progress past "How Hurricanes Are Formed" on my Samsung phone (Android v 4.4.2) - the diagram interaction did not show and scrolling down kept taking me back to the top of that section. Obviously a bug ... do you want me to report this elsewhere or will you do that?
Hi, Sam.
I haven't been able to reproduce this problem on my device, but I've submitted a Support Case on your behalf so that we can take a look at the problem and work with you one-on-one. Thanks for reporting it!
I love this and if you have a Clicker McClickson taking the course it keeps them focused as it's not just a page of text and then clicking Next to get to the next page. There are lots of different ways to explore all of the information. Great example!!
I may have to steal "Clicker McClickson" from you, Bailey. That made me laugh out loud! Thanks for taking the time to check out my Rise example...and give me a chuckle.
Hi Kalli. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. For some reason I didn't see notice of your comment.
The "Before: Making a Hurricane Survival Plan" is not a block type, but rather a process lesson. It's one of the 7 pre-built lesson types you'll see after you hit the "Add Content" button on a new lesson.
Hope that helps!
Trina, your example is really good. The work you have done with blocks and the interactive knowledge check with Rise is outstanding. Keep the good work!!!
Thanks for the lovely compliment. With hurricane season around the corner, I'm sure your'e one of many folks tasked with creating some training on this topic. Let me know if you'd like me to send you a copy of this course to save you some time!
