You can start from a blank scene and not add a character. That's not ideal for what you want to do because the background gets a slight blur.
If you add a character and export the course. You can open the assets folder and swap the character in the folder with your own. Just make sure you don't change the name and file type. And keep your image about the same aspect ratio.

How do I start with a blank scene? Every time I add a scenario block it defaults to a character. Same when adding a scene within the scenario block. Also, I've tried adding a scenario block and then deleting the scenes within it (as an attempt to start completely new) and I get a blank webpage.
