Publish as Word error
Sep 06, 2017
Good day everyone,
I have recently installed Articulate 360 on my computer running Windows 8.1. I upgraded the presentation I am working on. I needed to print the presentation so I tried publishing to word. I receive a message that states "The folder "Harassment Supervisor - Storyline output" is read-only, being used by another process, or you do not have the proper security permission to access this resource.
I can publish in any other format just not to Word. Is there a setting I am missing?
Thanks
Scott

I have the same error occurring. I submitted a case a few minutes ago. Thought I was missing something as well.
Closed course, opened course, restarted computer, changed file name, changed file location, nothing.
Oh good. Well not good. But at least I know I am not alone. I even uninstalled then reinstalled everything on my computer. Please let me know if you get it resolved and how.
Thanks
Hi Scott
Articulate are aware of the issue and working on a fix...see this post from Alyssa
This is happening to me also and I need to output my course to word, is there any eta on a fix?
Thanks Ann-Marie
Hey folks, I apologize for the headaches this bug is causing you. This is a high priority on our end, and we're heads-down working on a fix. We expect to release an update very soon, and I'll let you know as soon as it drops!
Thanks Alyssa. Who knew so many of us actually use this feature? Good for you to know it is useful by the community.
Hi all! Just to let you know I am also experiencing this issue today as well. Really hoping to get a fix soon as I am on a deadline (of course!). Thanks!
Also ran into this yesterday, but in Quizmaker. Hadn't seen anyone mention that specifically so I thought I'd note it.
I am unable to publish to Word from SL360 and my coworker has been unable to publish in Studio360.
The last time I was able to publish was on Tuesday 9/5. I suspect this is related to the upgrade and I am very hopeful a fix happens soon because I too have a looming deadline.
I am experiencing this issue as well, and was initially relying on it as a workaround to figure out something else that, as it turns out, has been a feature request for about 3 years now (determining which master and layout are in use by a specific slide). I can't win today, but there's always tomorrow, or the day after that, or...
Thanks all for letting us know that you've run into this too. We've got it filed for Studio and Storyline, so we'll let you know once the fix is available.
We are having this same issue; please let me know ASAP when this bug is fixed!!
Does anyone know when we can expect an update/fix? We storyboard using the Word output and need to plan accordingly for a possible workaround. Deadlines :)
I am also having this same issue; please let me know when this bug is fixed.
Hi everyone,
I don't have a specific date the fix will be released, but we're working hard to release it soon! We'll be sure to share an update here once it's ready.
Hey all,
I've got good news!
The publish-to-Word feature in Storyline 360 and Studio 360 that temporarily stopped working has been fixed. Just install the latest software update. Here's how.
If Articulate 360 doesn't notify you right away about the new update, open your Articulate 360 desktop app, click the drop-down arrow next to your profile picture in the upper right corner, then choose "Check for Updates."
Thanks so much for your patience while our team worked on this!
Hi everyone
This is the best news on a Friday morning I could get, I need to publish as a Word file today to send my project for signoff so great timing.
Thanks Articulate - you are the best!!
Ann-Marie
