Results Slide is not submitting and freezes upon slide start

Jan 06, 2021

I am attempting to build a course that will contain both survey and graded quiz questions. I am testing this module in SCORM cloud. When I get to the results slide, it simply freezes and does not submit any interactions to the LMS.

I have tried publishing to SCORM 1.2 and 2004, and changing from complete/incomplete and all that. I don't know why the results slide freezes and does not submit the interactions.

I have attached the Storyline file, you have to view section 1 before the assessment becomes available.

Any tips are appreciated, thank you!

Hello Matt and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

I appreciate you sharing what you are experiencing with your published course and for sharing the .story file so that we could take a look.

I published your course to SCORM Cloud and I'm getting results in the LMS.

  • What do you experience when you take a look at my published link?
  • What browser are you using?

Hi Leslie,

When I get to the results page the attached image shows. It never unfreezes so I assume it never submits the interactions. When I close the module down and view "all interactions" within SCORM cloud, it comes up empty. What are the publishing settings you have chosen? Are you publishing to SCORM 2004? I am not familiar with how to prepare a module so that I can view both survey and quiz graded questions within the LMS.

Thanks, Matt.

I did not make any changes. I just published the last way you published, which was SCORM 2004.

I do see one set of results for you:

I did re-attempt the course I originally shared above and do see the 'loading' this time.

I've imported your course into a new project and re-published it, and I no longer see this behavior. How does this link work for you? I know the formatting is a bit different than your original file.

If you change the reporting status to Passed/Incomplete or Passed/Failed, your LMS may report both completion and success status as expected.

Hi Matt,

I've noticed a similar issue with the slide freezing on a results screen. Through some trial and error I realised it was caused by the 'Submit results when timeline starts' trigger.

Changing the trigger to anything other than 'Timeline starts' or 'Timeline reaches' fixes the issue.

Since I still wanted the trigger to input automatically still I added a trigger to add 1 to a number variable called 'Submit results' when the timeline starts, and then a second trigger to 'Submit results when the number variable changes'.

Good Morning,

I am struggling with a quiz.(quizzes).  I am putting quiz slide questions throughout the course.  I chose which graded questions to include in the results as there are a couple of survey questions as well.  I have published it in HTML 5 to an LMS and it completed but did not show up on a transcript.  I did not import PPTx slides, I created the course and copied/pasted some content but no quiz questions/slides.  The questions showed up within the course but they are also were all at the end as well. When I preview it in SL3 it looks correct. When I look at the menu in the player all the quiz slides are at the end.  I am so far behind converting courses as I have struggled with this quiz and other issues.  I am feeling stupid and old right now.

Hi Melanie,

I'm so glad you reached out! No stupidity here, as we're all continually learning and sharing our knowledge to support one another in this community! That's why it exists!

It sounds like you've inputted some quiz slides throughout your course in Storyline 3, but they are not getting recorded in your LMS results as expected, correct?

You can try testing your file in a different environment, such as SCORM Cloud, to see if you get different results. Better yet, if you're in a pinch, our support team will be happy to lend you a hand and take a look at your file to help troubleshoot!

If you're able to share it, upload your .story file to a case, and we'll take a closer look!

I just submitted the course, Short & Long Term Effects & Risks of Specific
Drugs through the help portal. I have made some more changes trying to get
it to work-so much for effort.
