🏆 Challenge of the Week
This week’s e-learning challenge is all about custom dials in Storyline and how you can use them as circular navigation menus.
Now, when you think about dials, most of the time they're relatively small compared to the overall size of the slide. Just another nteractive object on the slide.
But here’s the trick: if you customize the dial with your own graphics and then scale it up two or three times larger than the slide, you can reveal only a portion of that dial. That small arc then becomes your circular navigation menu.
It is a simple but creative way to reimagine a built-in feature. Here’s a quick example to give you an idea of how it works.

🚀 Tips for Getting Started
Here’s how to tackle this one, depending on how far you want to go:
- Start simple: Customize the default dial's face using a custom image or illustration. This is a big win if you've never worked with dials.
- Level up: Scale the dial beyond slide size to create your arc-style menu.
- Challenge mode: Add in some layers, animations, or conditions so the menu displays different content based on how far it's rotated.
