New to the E-Learning Challenges?

The weekly e-learning challenges are ongoing opportunities to learn, share, and build your e-learning portfolios. You can jump into any or all of the previous challenges anytime you want. I’ll update the recap posts to include your demos.

Learn more about the challenges in this Q&A post and why and how to participate in this helpful article.

Quick Note About the Recap Posts on LinkedIn

I like to promote the recaps with your examples on LinkedIn. I use the #elhchallenge and #elearningchallenge tags to help others in the community find your examples. And most of the time, I tag you individually in the post. I find it helps boost the posts across your networks.

I've recently heard from some folks who felt excluded because I didn't tag them in my LinkedIn recap posts. When that happens, it's because we're not connected or I couldn't find your profile.

When that happens, let me know. I'm more than happy to update the post to credit your work. I know these demos take a few hours to make. That's a significant investment, so I like you to get as much mileage as possible from your work.

Welcome to the challenges, Kate! Your variable and trigger demonstration flowed smoothly for me, and I would consider it a success. I imagine accounting for the various permutations, selecting the videos, sounds, and creating motion paths took time, but they all added to my user experience.

Great first project and welcome to the challenge community. I appreciated your menu layout and how allowing the player menu to be visible allowed another navigation option to the user. Including the pause and play buttons for audio/video interactions were also a considerate inclusion.

Karen, I enjoy your conversational voiceover. It put me at ease, feeling like I was about to have a fun experience. I also appreciate how you allow for navigation differences based on user preference and experience with the course by allowing a jump to the cocktail menu, or progressing past tutorials if the user already knew how to create the drinks.

One thing that could have improved my experience further would be onscreen text or transcript of the audio. I tend toward being a visual learner and process audio-only input differently than when I have visual access.

Thank you for your feedback, I have always intended to go back and add CC. I will block out some time to do that soon.

Thank you for sharing your work and this culture with the challenge community. I especially enjoyed learning more about the culture that surrounds the brew and how it is more than just an individual's beverage choice, but a collaborative effort and communing experience.

Its been my pleasure Yvonne. Every time l revisit the learning experience, l feel like turning back time and going back to experience the moment. Its absolutely fantastic and unfortunately words can only go to a limited extent in fully describing and giving you an immersive experience of the composite experience and jubilation that surrounds this.
