OSHA Safety Training w/ E-Learning Course Starter Templates #552

Safety training. Sigh. It's one of the most common types of workplace learning, and for good reason.

Workplace injuries are serious, costly, and very often preventable. Unfortunately, the only injury most learners seem focused on avoiding is a sore finger from clicking Next too fast.

Since OSHA turned 55 last month, it feels like a pretty good time to take a fresh look at one of the most foundational topics in workplace learning.

🏆 Challenge of the Week

This week, your e-learning challenge is to design a course starter template in Rise or Storyline for an OSHA-related safety topic.

What are Course Starter Templates?

Course starters are multi-slide templates (or lessons in Rise) that include a combination of the most common e-learning content and interaction slides.

Starter templates provide a structure to the design, layout, and flow of an e-learning course. They don’t include every possible slide type, but they include enough slides to give users a working model from which they can begin assembling their projects.

Common slides or lessons include:

  • Title / course intro slide
  • Learning objectives slide
  • Click-and-reveal interaction
  • Scenario-based decision slide
  • Process or procedure interaction
  • Hotspot interaction
  • Knowledge check
  • Tabs interaction
  • Timeline or step-by-step workflow

✨ Share Your E-Learning Work

You put in the effort, now make sure your work gets seen:

  • Blog it: Post your example in the recap hub and tell us how you tackled the challenge. With the new submission format, you can comment directly on each example. Try leaving helpful feedback on at least three projects this week.
  • Share it: Please share your examples on LinkedIn and mention both David & Articulate using the #ElearningChallenge tags so we can help promote your work.
  • Discuss it: Feel free to cross-post in the forums to give your work even more visibility.
