Hi folks! I focused my efforts on modifying Lesson 1- I didn't change Lessons 2 or 3.
3 changes:
- Custom AI generated images using custom style. I thought about what type of image would be inviting and encourage engagement. I used a prompt from David's example video.
- Modifying content by using the AI editor. This helped me use more plain language, simplify ideas, and get the point across in less words.
- Adding in interactivities. I added in a quiz, process, and sorting blocks to promote engagement.
AI feature:
- I liked being able to use instant convert. In my regular day to day, I don't get the chance to use this function as all content is locked in before development. I can't change content after approval, so I had fun playing around with the features that do the editing work for you.
Challenge:
- I don't always trust AI! I found it challenging as I wasn't familiar with the original course content- which meant I wasn't sure if the AI edits and instant converts were accurate to the original meaning.

Hi! I really like your color theme choice and the images you created. The colors are somewhat calming and the images all have the same "look and feel". They really bring the lesson together. I see you also have some custom blocks in there - they are cool aren't they?
I hear you Nicole! Being confident that you know the material enough to catch/fix any hallucinations is a crucial part of being comfortable with these tools, IMO. I hope this practice made the process at least familiar enough that you felt like you learned what to look for when you use it in your work.

I opened your course and immediately loved your use of AI-generated watercolor images instead of traditional photos. It gave the course a unique, creative feel and definitely inspired me to consider using watercolor-style AI imagery more often in my own work.
I also noticed how thoughtful you were with your image prompts. Each visual reflected diversity and inclusion in a natural and intentional way. Really nice work! 😊

Hi Everyone!
I have really enjoyed this cohort and it confirmed that my use of the AI Assistant tools really helps to speed up creation. This was a fun exercise and I was able to use several of the tools together to create the look and design.
Changes:
(1) Prompted AI to rewrite lesson intro and other text through out lessons.
(2) Added Audio with AI to support the text above it and edited the audio with AI along with modified the text and photo.
(3) Custom image creation with AI, wanted to make sure the images all had a natural and similar look and feel. Even add images to the Quiz questions.
Most valuable AI feature or capability:
The create with AI in Rise is a game changer you can have you course designed and edited quickly with just minor adjustments. The other AI tool available just enhance all of this work.
Challenges:
The biggest challenge was getting the correct prompts for the AI images especially since I wanted them to have the same color theme.
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
Nice job, TonyaChucula732! I especially liked the reflective question that you asked them. I'm going to leverage that technique in my next course.
Q for you. When I opened the second lesson, the image was blurry and I expected it to clear up, but it didn't. Tell me about why you chose that type of treatment to open your course.
- TonyaChucula732Community Member
Thank you JeanMarrapodi-c. The image of the people was suppose to be clear and in the background, AI blurred the background, I forgot to go back and edit the photo so the whole picture wasn't blurred. But I also like to think since that section is about purpose sometimes our purpose is blurry and we just need a little help defining it to make it clear. 😁

I am working on the course we need to turn in and having issues with trying to edit content. Some blocks will not allow me to edit. The system seems to be unresponsive. Very frustrating. If I try to go out of the course, I get the message that my content may not be saved. What am I supposed to do?
Hi LeslieClifton-9, I'm sorry you're running into so much trouble! I'd love to help you resolve this. Please email me at [email protected], and I'll work with you one-on-one to get this sorted out.

Hi All, here is my attempt :-) I was a bit short on time due to deadlines but here goes:
https://share.articulate.com/n5V0yJlitKCJBBkkKMjT9
- Share 3 changes I made: I used the create AI Image Prompt option to create my images based on the content. I also used the Instant Convert option to convers flip cards to a process. I added AI voice and used the improve script writing option to create more meaningful content.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable The most meaningful for me is the instant convert option as well as the rewrite, make longer or make shorter options. It assists with not having to use additional AI tools that takes up unnecessary time.
- What challenges Prompting - due to time constraints I could not reprompt or use the AI to assist with creating decent prompts. It is something I am working on to improve for myself.
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
First of all, I love your name! It sounds like fun. I've never met a Tizane. TizaneCoetzee is your name common in South Africa?
You've done a nice job on your course. One thing that you did especially well was making your card sorts around applying the theories you've taught. That's such a good way to reinforce the lesson. I know you said you were short on time, but one thing I might try in the future when you're creating personas as you did in the tabbed interactions would be to add images of the different people. I found myself zipping through without really absorbing because I didn't have anything to connect them too. An image might help the learner think of different people they know.

Hi everyone! Here is mine: I focused on Lesson 1 and the Key concepts and quiz at the end.
https://share.articulate.com/TX75_Ca4z1D1gpSONBfTt
3 changes and why:
- AI-generated banner image: I used Add AI Image to create a banner image that supported the content and made the lesson feel more visually engaging right from the start.
- Course Summary: I used the AI Assistant to create a Course Summary and then renamed the section Key Concepts. I really liked how quickly it pulled together the main ideas from the course.
- Instant Convert: I used Instant Convert to change a statement into an Image and Text interaction and asked AI to create an analogy to go along with it.
All three were very cool AI features!
Most valuable feature: The Course Summary was probably the most valuable feature for me. I can see this being really helpful when creating Key Concepts sections for our courses. I also really liked the prompting capabilities for creating hooks and scenarios.
Challenges: The biggest challenge was getting the prompts and tone just right. Sometimes I had to rewrite a prompt a few times to get what I was looking for. I also noticed that when I asked for a tone like “playful” or “casual,” AI could take it a little too far! I would then have to ask it to rewrite the content with a slightly different or more balanced tone.
I really liked this opportunity to practice more with Rise AI!.
- AndreaDeForestCommunity Member
I really do like the key concepts at the end, to hit the highlights of the course.
It's great to hear the course summary was helpful, and especially for something so concrete as a key concepts section!
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
SharonBrenfleck I love the tip block you included in here. That was an excellent call out, and is something that helps the learners focus even more on a specific aspect of the course. That's a reusable idea! Is this one of the quote blocks?

- Share 3 changes you made:
- I added in the purple bold text to the objectives.
- I added audio to the process in lesson two.
- I created a knowledge check in lesson three to test understanding of the flashcards.
- Which AI feature or capability was most valuable:
- Definitely the ability to convert blocks. It can be really time consuming to go in and individually update blocks.
- What challenges:
- It did not want to modify feedback for a knowledge check that I was working on. I tried multiple prompts and it just gave me the same exact feedback.
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
mnfrasca I'm glad you persisted with the feedback on things. Your explanations really clarified things.
I noticed in your questions you had a lot of questions with check boxes that only had one answer. Check boxes indicate multiselect questions. Radio buttons indicate pick one.
I also noticed it was super easy to skim through text till I got to the flashcards and quiz questions, which forced me to engage. Think about your learner and what will engage them along the way. Mangers are super busy and many will click click click their way through without paying attention to get to the quiz. Sad but true. How might you prevent that in your courses to force them to pay attention?

I had a lot of fun generating AI images.
Changes made
-
Used a recurring theme to create several new AI-generated images in RISE.
-
Experimented with AI text-to-speech "vocal cues" directly in RISE like sighing, laughter, sarcasm or a faux French accent.
-
Created a rhino sound effect in Storyline AI and imported in RISE.
-
Used AI to convert plain text paragraphs into a rhyming poem that sticks to core concepts.
-
Used AI to write a course summary based on all lessons.
-
Converted an accordion block into a sorting activity.
-
Used AI to convert tone of paragraphs to casual.
-
Added an AI-generated knowledge check question related to the key concepts and swapped in answer feedback by choice.
-
Add an AI-generated quiz at the end of the course.
Most Valuable Feature
- Loved the AI generated images but the most valuable for me were the "convert blocks" and ability to have it create a summary for me.
Challenge
Only real challenge I found was trying to get the AI Assistant in Storyline to produce consistent result with js interactions. But that wasn't covered in this cohort.
- DianneTomko-228Peer Guide
Your course was very creative! I loved how you experimented with different AI features. The images were eye-catching, and trying different voices added great variety. You also have a wonderful sense of humor. Keep experimenting and don't be afraid to edit AI-generated images until they match your vision. Great work! 👏
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
RHINOS!! Made me laugh out loud at the first click. Super clever RussellEngoran So was the poem and the way you introduced so many things. Your images are terrific and you did a lot to push the capabilities of Rise. One thing I noticed was that the rhino metaphor started out as the bad annoying guy, then you used rhino as the pillar of happiness, which switched out the metaphor and was confusing. I wonder if you need two characters here - one for the bad guy and one for the good guy. I found the sorting cards of factors vs examples of happiness confusing, and wasn't sure what you were trying to achieve by differentiating them. I found myself missing the rhinos after lesson one.
You're right. We didn't cover javascript interactions in this cohort. That falls under more advanced topics. Check out the work of Jeff Batt, the Learning Ninja on the Learning Dojo channel. He does a ton with coding. He offers paid courses but has a lot for free too. I've been in several of his workshops and he teaches in geek speak for the developers with coding background.https://www.learningdojo.ninja/blog
I've found that javascript in Storyline is hit or miss, generally miss the first time but telling the AI that it didn't work produces something else. Once it's there... WOO HOO. Oh the things you can do!
You're an envelope pusher, clearly. I can't wait to see what else you bring out in the future.
- RussellEngoranCommunity Member
YES! NOW THAT'S THE REACTION I WAS HOPING FOR!
Glad you enjoyed the humor. It is so infrequent that I get to have fun with it. I had limited time to work, so yeah continuity was sacrificed. Initially, I had planned an increasingly wild rhino theme for all the lessons. But initial ambition wavered during the first lesson and I admittedly "phoned-it-in" from that point on.

I love how you added audio right on top of the images. How did you do that?
- AndreaDeForestCommunity Member
Hi all, here is my course. I changed a bit in each lesson and added the AI quiz at the end the course.
https://share.articulate.com/_F_ePpzNrDpm3zk-xScp6
3+ changes:
- I opened my 2nd lesson with a Hook Strategy. I think it helps the content seem more personal and relatable.
- I used custom AI generated images from prompts created by the AI editor. I find it challenging to come up with detailed prompts on my own.
- I added interactive blocks. I added process blocks, flip cards, accordion blocks, and sorting blocks to promote engagement.
- I added AI audio to the quotes and key statements for more of an impact for the learner to hear it aloud.
- I added divider blocks to break down the content into more focused chunks.
Valuable AI feature:
- I really liked the instant convert. Sometimes I have an idea about how I would like the learner to engage with the content using a particular block, but it ends up being better suited to another.
Challenge:
- I found it challenging to create unique supporting AI images. They all kept coming out looking the same, but I imagine that has to do with the course content.
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
You're right, AndreaDeForest sometimes the AI generated images come out like cheesy stock images. After reviewing about 40 of these courses, it's obvious how similar they can be. Have you tried changing up the style? There are some great examples in our group of cartoon images, black-and-white images, 3D-animated images... and on it goes. When I did my cohort assignment last time the course ran, I asked it to create images in the style of Mario Brothers. It did a great job. Of course, I'm not a SME on them, and having a younger colleague review them, they said it added oddball characters in there. But it was close enough for me. I've also asked it to create things in the style of the Sunday comics (do they still publish them?) and that was a ton of fun.
Sometimes being specific in your prompt helps. Rather than saying "a diverse team having fun together" and getting 6 people sitting around a table smiling at each other, what if you said, "a team of coworkers solving a problem and having fun together" that introduces a new variable that might trip things to be more like what you want. Also saying, "no, that's not what I want. This is too....whatever it is. Try again" can help.
AI is learning, as are we in getting better at prompting. Sometimes learning is a struggle, and as you read this thread, you and many others have found this to be true.

Hi!
Here is my take on the course challenge:
https://share.articulate.com/9j1-PLqIQGZSMhr-gf-Mp
Three changes I made:
- Converted paragraph and list blocks to interactive blocks
- Generated a quiz
- Generated AI images in colors and styles that fit the theme I selected
- Added custom blocks with AI audio and images.
The most valuable feature was image generation. Using another source like Claude or ChatGPT uses so many tokens and adds extra steps.
Challenges:
- Several times, while I was generating content, my browser tab crashed which required me to start over.
- I wish I could select multiple blocks and AI convert or make adjustments.
- DianneTomko-228Peer Guide
Hi Brianakg, I really like your branding colors and the flow of your content. Your course shows consistency and it is engaging to the learner. It's great that you added voice in the course hits the mark for inclusivity. Great job!
- JeanMarrapodi-cPeer Guide
Brianakg I agree with DianneTomko-228 about your branding color choices. I especially liked the style of your images. I'd change the cover image to match them. Perhaps you just didn't get to that. I also liked the concept of the audio reflection prompts in the communication section. I was disappointed they were all the same though. Did the system do that? I know with time constraints you might not have gotten to update that, but I wondered if the system fought with you about having 4 different ones. Overall though, well done!
