"Adapting LearnDash course to Storyline Storyline Course with videos, activities, quizzes, etc.

Sep 10, 2021

Hi! I have a course built in LearnDash. It's cool, but it will NOT export into SCORM, so I am re-creating and re-imagining it with Storyline / Articulate.

There are some things I don't know how to do (yet).

=====================

Overview:

I'm really good at PowerPoint so the basics are really familiar to me. I've watched a lot of videos and they are pretty thorough. There are just some details that I'm stuck on and no matter what I search for I can't figure them out.

Status:

The skeleton of the course is built. You can move through it and there are slides for everything. I've built my questions and I just now figured out how to add them to the storyline in the right places. There are 20 Qs after the page that says "Pre-test" and another set of 20 after the Post-Test." Maybe "that" is a quiz. We'll see.

I also know how to embed videos and images, etc. Making it pretty is going to be the last thing I do.

The toughest stuff is going to be building out the interactive stuff, but there are good videos for that AND there are templates I can download. The templates are awesome. Haven't used them yet, but it will happen.

Help:

While the videos all over the place tell me all the basics, and are really quite good, there are a couple of things I couldn't find tutorials for.

1) How do you add a quiz to the storyline? So far I added all my questions as separate slides after the "Quiz explanation" slide.

2) How do you grade a quiz? I need to show the grade. Surely there's a video.

3) On the Final, I need to rate them (only on the final quiz) and send a certificate for 70-99 and a Mastery certificate for 100. I haven't encountered the need for that (I'm still trying to get the first quiz working), but I hope there are vids.

Hello Billie Joe!

I'm happy to help! It sounds like you're on the right track. In Storyline, you can add quiz slides and use a Results Slide to track the learner's progress. We have a webinar, Getting Started with Quiz and Results Slides in Storyline 360, that walks through this in great detail.

If you're looking for a certificate, here is a discussion on Six Ways to Generate a Certificate of Completion. Let us know what method works best for you!
