Audio not playing for SCORM 1.2 to Moodle courses
May 10, 2018
Hi there,
I'm using SL2 and running SCORM 1.2 packages in Moodle. For some reason, the audio won't play in iPhone or iPad.
Firstly, I published the courses using AMP but they wouldn't load at all. I unticked this and just published with HTML5 and the packages are loading fine but the course narration won't play. I have embedded YouTube videos and the audio is working fine with these, just the course narration won't work.
I uploaded the SCORM package to SCORM cloud and it's working fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do please? We're just moved to beta testing with our new startup and we're getting complaints from users that they can't access the modules.
Thanks to everybody.
/D

Hello, Deirdre. Sorry you're running into audio issues in your course when you upload it to Moodle.
I saw that you also submitted a support case with your output attached for our Support Team to test on their end – great move! In the meantime, I found a similar thread that may be of value to you.
I'll be following your case – and will share updates on our findings here, as needed!
Thanks Katie
I noticed that the thread is over a year old. Do you know if this issue with iOS 10 ever get resolved?
Kind regards

Hi Deirdre,
As I understood the issue it was fixed after iOS 10.2 - so that it should be working in subsequent updates of the iOS 10. Do you know if you're able to check for those additional updates?
If you're still on an earlier iOS (for example, my iPad only supports up to iOS 9.3.2) that shouldn't have the same issue with audio, and any of the more recent iOS's should also work normally.
Hey Deirdre,
Looks like Ashley beat me to reply, but I did share your subsequent question with Ryan as he works with you in your case :) I'd recommend continuing to work with him there.
Thanks Leslie, I guess I'll wait to hear from Ryan so. The issue is still there in v 10.3
In Google Chrome, you can enable or disable a flag for an experimental feature to be able to quickly mute or unmute a tab by clicking on the speaker icon (audio indicator) directly on the tab or you can right-click on the tab and click on "Mute site" or "Unmute site".
