do you know if there is an option (may be by a variable) to switch off audio as default when starting a WBT? So user have to switch it on again to hear the voices. Placing a trigger slide by slide on each text-to-speech item is not really an option.
I thought it could be an idea and I tried to place an initial text-to-speech item on a master slide together a trigger stopping the media when a variable FALSE. But only the variable came through to a new slide not the text-to-speech.
It would be great if Articulate provided a way to have audio off by default. Give us access to the Audio On/Off variable. According to your own standard:
“Make Audio and Video Content Accessible
Don't Autoplay
People using screen readers navigate by listening, so don't allow audio or video content to start playing automatically.”
While not currently a feature in Storyline, we have a feature request logged for a trigger to mute, unmute or adjust the volume of all audio (video and audio).
I've added this discussion to the report, and we'll come back to update you if I have any news to share or if this request makes it to our feature roadmap.
Has there been any updates to this post/feature request? I'm using text-to-speech in Storyline 360 and I'd like the audio to default to muted and allow the user to choose if they want to unmute.
I don't have any updates to share at this time as our team has been prioritizing other features. I've included your feedback in the feature report and will update this discussion as soon as we have news to share.

Hi Heinz!
Great question! Storyline doesn't have a way to trigger the volume, so I'd recommend using a trigger to determine when the audio will play.

This is an important accessibility feature, so hoping this enhancement becomes part of the rodeo soon! Thank you, Heinz, for the original request!
