"blinking" when changing states

Jul 08, 2015

Hi,

We seem to have encountered the same problem from here. We also have our own character that we created and we used states to change the movement of the character.

We made use of flash movies so as to make the character, for example, fly and then walk.

But as we published our story, everytime there is a state change the character disappears for a split second. Before going to the next state/movement.

We tried the solution of Tara but it doesn't work on our end. We also checked the flash movie but it doesn't have an extra white frame in the flash movie.

I've read around and it seems to be random. but for us it is happening most of the time even when the story is published or previewed.

Hi Luis,

Thanks for reaching out here and linking to that other thread. It's a bit older, so I'm not certain that Tara is still around to weigh in on how she was able to fix it or share here file, but if you're able to share a sample of what you're working with here someone in the community may be able to take a look at what's occurring.

Hi Luis,

No apologies necessary. I didn't find a case associated with your name as listed here (could be a different name or email address) so if you'd like to share the case number with me here I"m happy to follow along. You would have received the case number via email confirmation that you case was submitted - and if you didn't see it please check your junk/spam folder.

I'm currently having this issue with a .png to .gif state character and gif to gif state character.

The first character's normal state is a png. When the user selects a certain point on the screen, the character moves along a motion path towards that point and switches states to a gif. When the character moves along the motion path, it often disappears for a whole second or more while viewing in Chrome.

The same issue happens with the second gif-to-gif character.

Has anyone else noted this issue resurfacing? Is anything being done to fix it?
