Buttons Disappearing when Accessible HTML Text toggle is Turned On

I have buttons set up on screen, when clicked a popup opens on another layer. When I select the Accessible HTML Text option, the buttons disappear and are not clickable.

I have the buttons tagged in the Focus Order/Accessibility Tools-- is there a fix to get the buttons/text to remain on screen when the Accessible Text toggle is turned on?
