Can Someone Explain Themes & .athmx / xml Files

How does Storyline save / relay Theme information?

Let's say you are working on a new project and creating a Theme with colors and all that. If a new user works on the file, do they need to access anything like an .athmx or .xml file? Or is it all self contained in the .story file?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I can confirm that everything is saved in the .STORY project file. If you pass the file to another author, they will also have access to the theme that you built. No importing of external files is needed.

This is also true if you publish your slides using the Team Slides feature. If you publish slides that use a certain theme, other members of the team who download and use those slides will also be able to use the theme.

To summarize, all you'll need to create a course and pass it on to other authors is the .STORY project file!

  • Thank you so much! This is what I had thought, but someone I was working with was telling me different. I appreciate your time!
