I've been asked to update a Storyline module created several years ago but don't have the original file--only the downloadable zipped SCORM package from our LMS. Is there any way to work backward to get back to the original file from this??
Walt is correct, and our documentation is as follows:
Published courses can't be edited or reverse-engineered. To edit a published Articulate Storyline course, you'll need to have the original project (*.story) file. If it was published by another developer, please ask them to send you a copy of the project file.

It's like going back into a baked cake and trying to change the proportions of the ingredients; it doesn't work. Sorry.
darn--I was afraid of that . . . Thanks for the reply . . .
Hi there Ashley!

Its an old thread and yes the right and fool proof way is to do it using the *.story project, but in critical situations where you dont have the source code and for some reason (compliance etc), you need to quick modify the published SCORM file, this free tool can be made use of : https://doctorelearning.com/blog/modifying-editing-published-elearnings-scorm-without-source-code/
Has anyone tried this? I need to shorten the filenames without breaking the course.
shortening filenames will not work as they will be internally referenced.
