"Click to Add Text" Auto-insertion

Mar 30, 2021

Is there any way to turn off the auto-inserting of a Text Box? I made a template that doesn't use a "full slide" text box, and whenever I click randomly to either deselect a currently selected item or accidently, Storyline 360 slaps down a text box without any input.

Can I turn this behavior off? If it can't be turned off, how can I avoid this. I find myself deleting 20 of these a session when creating. Its only a problem because when it slaps this text box down, often it is above other items on the slide, and I can't just "click through" to the important bits beneath. So I have to find an edge, select the Text Box as a whole, and whack the delete key on it.

Hello Nicholas and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊

I'm not sure that I'm following what is happening, but I'd be happy to take a look.

With your permission, please share your project file publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

If you could share a screen recording or Peek 360 video with the steps to replicate, that would be very helpful.
