Hi, I am new to creating Simulations. I have a video that has been created from a powerpoint screenrecording. After I upload that to my storyline file, i couldnt find how to create the interactive simualtion from that video file . I want to use the step-by-step simulation mode where Articulate automatically breaks down the video in parts and lists the topics.
Storyline creates interactive simulations when you use Storyline for screen recording. It can't automatically do that with simulations recorded with other software.
FYI: Here's the first article in the User Guide about using screen recordings:
If you can't do your own screen recording with Storyline, you'd have to manually create a simulation. The easiest way to do that is probably using images of the software, and overlay those with text-entry fields and hotspots as needed to re-create the simulation.
Hi Judy, I tried the screencast recording and it did break down the slides as mentioned. However it didnt play myy voice in it. Is that normal? I assume that when I am screenrecording, my voice gets recorded too
I haven't done screen recordings for a long time, and I didn't record audio with them. You'll need to check the User Guide for proper settings to record audio.

Hello Rashi,
I see Judy helped you here, but just to follow up, I wanted to share some additional resources on recording simulations with audio in Storyline:
