Different audio quality and volume in record mic and screen record slides

Nov 01, 2022

Hello! I'm using a Jabra headset with mic in Storyline 360. The quality and volume of the audio is different on slides with audio recorded and screen recording slides, so much so that when you review the course in Review 360, you have to manually adjust the volume between slides. I already have the audio "optimized" in the publish settings. I've looked at similar discussions without finding a clear resolution for my situation.

What is the best long-term fix? Should I invest in an external mic, or are there settings I can adjust to fix this? Thanks for your help!

Hello Susanna,

Thanks for reaching out!

To troubleshoot the behavior, I'd recommend testing with a different device whose primary function is to record audio. Most modern headsets have advanced settings that may be what's causing the audio volume to change, and the only way to troubleshoot if the issue is specific to your Jabra headset is to test using different hardware. If your computer has an internal microphone, you can try recording using that to see if the audio improves.

If using a different recording device doesn't help, try doing a repair of your Storyline 360 installation
